Joliet Catholic Academy names November Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy has announced its November Students of the Month, recognizing Aidan Medina, Alivia Schertz, and Kevin Casey for their achievements both academically and within the community.

Aidan Medina is a graduate of St. Mary Immaculate Grade School and resides in Manhattan. He holds membership in several honor societies including the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society. His accolades include being a College Board Nationally Recognized Hispanic Scholar and receiving various scholarships such as the Kazma Scholar award. In addition to his academic pursuits, Aidan serves as Student Council Executive Board President and Medical Science Club President. He plans to study biomedical engineering with aspirations to become an oncologist.

Alivia Schertz hails from Joliet and graduated from St. Raymond Grade School. She participates in numerous honor societies like the National Art Honor Society and has earned an academic medal in pottery. Alivia is active in Student Council as Executive Board Vice President and leads Habitat for Humanity as President. Outside school, she works at The Jacob Henry Mansion and J&B Music Studio while volunteering for children with special needs. Her future plans include studying business at Notre Dame University or St. Mary’s College.

Kevin Casey, from Shorewood, graduated from Holy Family Grade School. He is involved in honor societies such as Mu Alpha Theta and is recognized as an AP Scholar. Kevin engages with Key Club and Economics Club while playing on varsity sports teams including volleyball and soccer. In his leisure time, he enjoys competitive Rubik’s Cube solving through the World Cube Association (WCA). He aims to major in computer science and mechanical engineering at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with hopes of working for a tech giant like Google.
