Joliet Catholic Academy has announced its December Students of the Month, recognizing Xander Keating, Nora Buss, and Brooke Simon-Chenelle for their achievements in academics and community involvement.
Dr. Jeffrey Budz, President/Principal of Joliet Catholic Academy, expressed his satisfaction with the students' accomplishments. "JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited in both the classroom and in the community," he stated.
Xander Keating, a Plainfield resident and graduate of St. Mary Immaculate Grade School, is active in several honor societies including National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. He participates in Robotics Club, Tech Club, and Varsity Tennis team. Xander enjoys photography and nature walks outside school activities and plans to pursue electrical engineering in college.
Nora Buss also hails from Plainfield and graduated from St. Raymond Grade School. She holds leadership roles such as Executive Board President of Student Council and Vice President of Habitat for Humanity. Nora is involved in various clubs like Key Club and Pickleball Club while also working part-time jobs. She aims to study criminology or business at college.
Brooke Simon-Chenelle from Shorewood attended Holy Family Grade School before joining JCA. A member of multiple honor societies, she has received AAU Academic All-American honors among other accolades. Her extracurricular activities include playing Varsity Volleyball and participating in a book club.
