Residents of Romeoville are being urged to prepare for the possibility of another evening of strong storms. The Village has advised community members to monitor updates from the National Weather Service Chicago and local media for the latest weather information.
Those in need of a cooling shelter can use the Community Room at the Romeoville Police Station located at 1050 W. Romeo Road. For residents who require longer-term, air-conditioned accommodations, several local hotels—including Country Inn and Suites (1265 Lakeview Dr.), Days Inn & Suites (1280 Normantown Rd.), and Super 8 (1301 Marquette Dr.)—are offering special rates to those affected by the storm. All three hotels are pet friendly.
The Village noted that Public Works crews will be working to clear debris from streets as quickly as possible, similar to their response over the past weekend. Residents with downed branches are instructed to place them at the curb; Public Works will collect them on garbage day using a chipper.
For power outages, residents should call 1-800-EDISON1, visit ComEd.com, or use the ComEd App to report issues. Registration for outage alerts is also available so that residents can receive updates about outages and restoration status in their area. "Just like this weekend, our Public Works crews will work as quickly as they can to clear streets of debris. If you have downed branches, place them at the curb and Public Works will come by with the chipper on your garbage day."
