Providence Catholic High School recently held a ceremony to induct 109 new members into its National Honor Society (NHS) chapter. The new inductees include 105 juniors and four seniors, recognized for their academic achievements and commitment to leadership, service, and character. These students join the 100 seniors inducted last year.
To qualify for NHS membership, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher and be in grades 11 or 12. They must also demonstrate excellence in leadership, service, and character.
During the ceremony, senior members received NHS stoles as a symbol of their dedication to scholarship, leadership, and service. Principal Paul Houston and PCHS President Father John Merkelis, OSA, presented the stoles.
“Being part of the NHS at Providence Catholic is a recognition of students’ dedication to academic achievement and their contributions to the school community,” said Kevin Oliver, NHS Moderator. “Our newly inducted members are committed to upholding the principles of servant-leadership and are encouraged to continue making a positive impact on those around them.”
The new members will participate in various service activities benefiting both the school and surrounding communities.
