John Noak Mayor | Village of Romeoville

A new development is being considered for the southeast corner of Weber Road and Normantown Road in Romeoville. Plans presented to the Romeoville Planning & Zoning Committee propose an 8,603 square foot building that would include a drive-thru and spaces for two restaurants: Hawaiian Bros Island Grill and CRISP & GREEN. A third tenant space has not yet been filled.

Hawaiian Bros Island Grill offers island-inspired meals with its signature plate lunch, which includes rice, macaroni salad, and proteins such as Molokai chicken and luau pig. The brand operates in 13 states and currently has three locations in Illinois.

CRISP & GREEN, a chain with more than 200 locations nationwide, specializes in salads, grain bowls, wraps, smoothies, and acai bowls.

“This intersection has become a very desirable place to open up shop,” said Mayor Noak. “Between QuikTrip, Hatch Chicken, Hawaiian Bros, and CRISP & GREEN, with interest from new businesses such as these, we continue to see significant activity in this area.”

The proposed project involves demolishing the former 7-11 building at the site before construction begins. If approved by local authorities, work on the new building could start next spring.
