I&M Canal and Centennial Trail Connection opens

The I&M Canal and Centennial Trail Connection was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 7. The new trail connection links the 3.26-mile Centennial Trail with the 11-mile I&M Canal Trail.

With the official ribbon cutting on October 7, a new trail connection linking the Centennial Trail and the I&M Canal Trail is now accessible to the public. The connection extends along and under the 135th Street bridge, providing a continuous pathway from Lemont to Joliet. The project was funded by a grant from CITGO and executed collaboratively by the Village of Romeoville, City of Lockport, and Forest Preserve District of Will County.

Romeoville residents can submit comments on I-55 improvements study

Residents of the Villages of Romeoville, Bolingbrook, and Plainfield have until October 16 to submit written comments regarding the I-55 access study alternatives. Comments received by this date will be included in the official public hearing record.
